Sherrill
Kahn has been creating award-winning drawings, paintings and fiber art work for
almost forty years. Her work can be found in many private collections throughout
the world. She loves to weave, quilt, airbrush, bead, sew, knit, crochet, draw,
paint and "rubber stamps". In addition,
Sherrill makes creative books, innovative jewelry and dolls, paints and
decorates every surface imaginable, and constantly explores new materials
and new techniques. She lives by four simple words "Have Fun", and
"What If?"
Sherrill taught for thirty years in the Los Angeles Public Schools, twenty seven of which were at Palisades High School. She has also taught for University Extension programs and given lectures along with demonstrations to numerous art groups and organizations. Since leaving the public schools, Sherrill now teaches across the country and loves to share the sheer joy of the creative process with her students. She packs her classes with as much information as possible, taking "what if" to new heights. She is available for workshops just about anywhere!
She has been published in magazines and books related to fiber arts and rubber-stamping. Her new books are now available. [Click Here] for more information. Sherrill is also planning on filming a video on creative art techniques.
Sherrill lives in
Southern California with Joel, her husband of almost 33 years. They do
everything together and he is her greatest friend and supporter. They love to
travel and have been in almost every state and many foreign countries throughout
the world. After retiring from teaching in the public schools, they started a
rubber stamp company four years ago called "Impress Me".
Our designs focus on ethnic cultures and Southwest art. It continues
to grow each year!
